VisiblePath is dead .... Long live Hoover's Connect

As many of you know, VisiblePath, the company I was "involved with" for more than five

years, was acquired earlier this year by Hoovers. The business network software is

now available as Hoover's Connect.

Another social network software firm disappears ..... It was a fun ride.

it's rough out there.

Too bad! although you're right that another social network disappears.. but that also gives space for new ones.

It does seem to be the way of things with most social startups being bought up eventually by some media giant or another. From the perspective of a startup, however, is there a better goal for the independent social network entrepreneur? Guess I haven't thought about the options enough.

Well, get bought or disappear. I don`t think it is that easy. It is indeed a rough sea for some players, it is damn difficult to get some marketshare when you aren`t a real real niche player or simply are very innovative.

Good luck for the other small and new social startups..
