Do host cities and countries benefit economically from organizing the Games? Does Brazil – mainly known for its soccer successes – have a home-field advantage and is it becoming a sports superpower beyond soccer? Which factors determine the successes and failures of countries at this year’s Summer Games? How can we predict the results of individual Olympic athletes?
