Graduate Student Political Economy Workshop Guidelines

Who Can Present?

Our presenters have mainly been G2s and G3s in the Government Department, but we've also had people from Economics, Sociology, and the Kennedy School. Anyone is welcome to present.

Who Attends?

The workshop is open to all participants, but is designed for G1s, G2s and G3s, who generally do not participate in the 3000 level workshops.

What Type of Research is Presented?

We look for work that fits under the broad rubric of political economy. This includes "economic" analyses of political phenomena and political analyses of economic phenomena. We are not a workshop restricted to positive political economy.

What Can You Present?

We welcome presentation of work in various levels of development. In the past, most presenters have submitted papers that are near completion. We also welcome papers at an earlier stage. The workshop can be a good place to solicit ideas that can help improve the quality of the finished product.

The Presentation Process

If you'd like to present, send an email to the coordinators of the seminar with a quick explanation of your plan. We'll find a date for you to present. You will need to get your paper or proposal to us in advance of your presentation so that we can post electronic copies to the website and make paper copies for seminar day. Let us know if you need special tools for your presentation, such as an overhead projector.
