Akiyuki Kawasaki, a Japanese researcher and visiting scholar at Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, recently spoke at the Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA). Kawasaki has developed software that enables researchers to predict how changes in population, land use, climate, urbanization, agriculture and other variables will affect water flow in a given area.

Harvard University announced this week that it has licensed to Crimson Hexagon, Inc. the patent-pending text analysis technology developed by Gary King, David Florence Professor of Government and the Director of IQSS, and Daniel Hopkins, an IQSS affiliate and recent Harvard Ph.D.  Their work at IQSS led to this paper.
