In May, the Dataverse Network team at IQSS is reaching out to the the local community, both to help users familiarize themselves with the Dataverse, and to learn how the team can improve the user experience. The Harvard Dataverse Network (DVN) is an easy-to-use open source data repository which allows you to publish, share, reference, extract, and analyze research data. It facilitates making data available to others, and allows you to replicate others' work; meanwhile researchers, data authors, publishers, data distributors, and affiliated institutions all receive appropriate credit.

Open Office Hours

If you are new to the Dataverse Network, a current user with questions, or simply interested in learning more about it, the DVN team invites you to visit the CGIS Knafel Building on Monday, May 20, for open office hours. The team will be available from 9:00-12:00 to sit with you one-on-one and help with any of your Dataverse needs. For more information, please see the IQSS calendar or contact the DVN team at dvn_support@hmdc.harvard.edu.

Usability Testing Study

The IQSS Dataverse team seeks participants to assist in evaluating the usability of the Dataverse web application. Interested participants are invited to attend one of the Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday sessions that will be conducted from May 1 through May 16; a session will take one hour, for which time participants will be compensated. More information can be found at the Dataverse website, or by contacting Michael Heppler at mheppler@hmdc.harvard.edu.
