Reporting Period Updates:
- Updated tape backup infrastructure from LTO4 to LTO6. Tripling tape capacity and increasing backup throughput.
- Re-designed RCE projects backup strategy to reduce failures and extend tape as a viable medium for research data backups
- Implemented new RCE Project space cost-recovery model.
- Working with CGIS Building Operations we increased data center temperatures to save energy but keep the room within normal parameters.
- Upgraded numerous websites from php-5.2 to php-5.3 to resolve security issues.
- New DoD compliant harddisk erase system put in place to comply with HRDSP requirements
- Completed upgrade of our system and service monitoring software.
- Worked with Data Science staffers with implementation of new Jenkins CI system
- Continued bug fixes and enhancement requests in RCE6 beta
