Executive Director, IQSS

As Executive Director, Cathy is responsible for the overall strategic, programmatic, financial, and personnel management of The Institute for Quantitative Social Science and its related programs. In this capacity, Cathy also oversees the Institute's day-to-day operations and administrative activities, including grants management, fundraising, budgeting, space planning, human resources and communications.

Cathy came to IQSS in November 2007 from the Harvard School of Public Health, where she served for three years as Administrative Director of the Harvard PEPFAR program. Before that, Cathy managed international programs at both the Harvard Institute for International Development and the Kennedy School of Government. Before coming to Harvard in 1999, Cathy spent five years in Moscow at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of The World Bank.

Cathy is a graduate of Colby College and of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She speaks fluent Russian and passable Spanish.

When not working, Cathy enjoys spending time with family and friends; long-distance running; reading; and following international affairs.
