Daniel Pemstein

Dan Pemstein is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Illinois. His research focuses on the comparative political economy of party systems and on how individual career ambition and party organization interact to determine legislative behavior. He is also a co-author of the Scythe Statistical Library, an open source C++ library for statistical computation. At IQSS, Dan is working with Gary King and Kevin Quinn to develop software to facilitate the application of natural language processing techniques to social science data.
