Born and raised in Italy, Francesca spent her last two years of high school in an international boarding school. Coming into contact with a variety of cultures and backgrounds sparked her interest in issues of transnationalism and national identity. Within the department of Social Studies, she plans to study the impact of immigration on national identity in the European Union, particularly in France. At IQSS, Francesca will be assisting professor Gest in his research project The New Minority, which explores political marginality among the white working class in the United States and the United Kingdom. Francesca is also a news reporter for The Crimson and a staff writer for The Harvard Political Review.
