John A Graves

Graduate Student, Department of Health Policy

John is a third-year PhD candidate in the Health Policy Program at Harvard. His interests are in the design and analysis of state and federal health care reforms, particularly in how researchers can use a wide array ofstatistical and econometric methods (including Bayesian analysis, microsimulation, and methods in causal inference) to better inform policy evaluations and decisions. He works primarily with Prof. Jonathan Gruber of MIT on a microsimulation model of the U.S. health care economy that is used to score the effects of reform options for federal and state policymakers.
