Kevin received his bachelor's degree from UC San Diego in 2005, double-majoring in sociology and philosophy and minoring in mathematics. He is interested in cultural sociology, social psychology, and social networks, and his research spans quantitative and qualitative methods. For his qualifying paper, Kevin is using contemporary tattooing as a lens through which to explore 'binding the future self' and Americans' conceptions of permanence. He is also working extensively with a new, longitudinal social network dataset constructed from college students' Facebook.com profiles.
