Interests: Professor Fleming's research combines ideas from the literatures of organizational behavior, complex systems, evolution, and the history of technology. He has developed and tested the idea of inventive search as a recombinant search process across a complex landscape. His current work develops the strategic implications of technological diversity, inventor collaboration networks, and innovation strategies for individuals, firms, and geographic regions.
