Manoj Mohanan is in the PhD Program in Health Policy (Economics
Concentration). His three main areas of interest are health insurance in
developing countries, the health-wealth relationship and physician labor
markets. He has been consulting to the World Bank and Health Ministries
in Kosovo, Egypt and India on health insurance related issues. He
continues to be involved with a World Bank project on the development of
a health insurance experiment in India. His own research is currently
focused on a project studying the economic consequences of health shocks
in Karnataka, India. Manoj received his undergraduate medical degree
from Grant Medical College, Mumbai (Bombay), in 1998. Prior to the
starting the PhD program, he also received two Masters Degrees from the
Harvard School of Public Health (MPH '00 and SM '04), focusing on
international health policy and economics.
