Maria Petrova is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Economy and Government. Before
coming to Harvard, she received M.A. in economics from New Economic School in
Moscow and M.Sc. in applied mathematics from Moscow State University. Her
research interests include political economy, development, mass media
economics, game theory. Current research topics include relationships between
inequality and media freedom, dynamics of political risk in comparative
perspective, and evolution of voting behavior patterns.
