Marian Vaillant Wrobel is an economist who specializes in Medicare drug benefits and other topics in public and health economics. Her current research focuses on efforts to modernize government health programs through the introduction of competition and choice. She enjoys projects that combine the analysis of secondary data with primary data collection, experiments, and the analysis of qualitative data.
Before joining IQSS, Marian was a Senior Research Director with the Brookings Institution and a Senior Associate at Abt Associates. Marian also taught art in Botswana as a United States Peace Volunteer. She holds an MPP and a PhD in economics, both from Harvard.
