Martin Anderson

Graduate Student, Department of Health Policy

Martin joined the Institute in October of 2009 and is currently a doctoral student in the Program in Health Policy
concentrating in health economics.  His previous research includes work on cancer screening and disparities and he has published two peer-reviewed articles (Relation between Medicare screening reimbursement and stage at
diagnosis for older patients with colon cancer, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association and
Racial disparities in cancer therapy, published in Cancer).  His current research relates to rationing by health
status and other factors in managed care plans, physician rationing behavior, and the effect of residency training on
health and physician outcomes. He is the recipient of a traineeship from the National Institute of Mental Health
and a Sloan Fellowship in Managed Care.
