Sudha Krishnan is a Research Analyst at ideas42. In this position, she is responsible for coordinating the design, exploration, and execution of economic development ideas, from examining why micro entrepreneurs borrow from moneylenders at high rates of interest to understanding how farmers experiment with new production technologies. The focus of her research is understanding the psychology of poverty, which can provide a novel perspective on the economic decisions made everyday by the poor, from vegetable vendors in India to seaweed farmers in Indonesia.
Prior to joining ideas42, Sudha worked as a research associate in Bangalore, India on an evaluation of a micro-credit program. She obtained her B.A. from Wellesley College and Master's in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego. Sudha enjoys practicing vinyasa yoga, traveling, watching anything by Almodóvar, spending time with family and friends, and eating Chipotle burritos while trying to maintain a degree of balance along with all of the ideating.
