Weihua is a graduate student in sociology, and has received quantitative training in game theory, econometrics, nonparametric statistics, stochastic process, time series analysis, etc. He is proficient in programming in R, Stata, Eviews, Gauss and Matlab.
He has a strong interest in applying formal modeling techniques and statistical analysis into the fields of medical sociology, economic sociology, and organizational studies. Currently he is working on a project exploring the effects of spousal hospitalization and cancer diagnosis on partner's health using categorical regressions and survival analysis based on a dataset composed of one million couples of American
elders.
