Education Innovation Laboratory (EdLabs)

After decades of reform efforts, the United States still fails to provide an adequate education for many children. The Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University (EdLabs) was founded in 2008 to transform education by using the power of the scientific method. EdLabs applies a Research and Development (R&D) model to education to unearth root causes of performance gaps, effectively vet reform options, and identify repeatable solutions that will improve public schools.

EdLabs brings together world-class scholars from a wide range of fields, including economics, education, mathematics, psychology, and biology, and connects them with R&D teams embedded in the daily operations of school districts.  These resources enable EdLabs to provide policy makers and educators with evidence- based strategies for improving academic achievement.
