#  Class of 2026 at IQSS: What's Next?

The IQSS community includes affiliated graduate students in programs all across Harvard University and active in a wide range of social science research. The end of the academic year always brings with it the departure of some of those graduate students as they finish their Harvard programs, and while it is a bittersweet time for us, we are excited to see what our graduating affiliates have waiting for them on the next steps of their respective journeys. Below is a collection of updates from some of those affiliates going on to continue their work beyond Harvard.

## Dorothy Manevich (PhD, Government, American Politics)

Dorothy is joining the national political department of the United Autoworkers Union (UAW).

## Jeremiah Cha (PhD, Government)

In the fall, Jeremiah will join the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics at Princeton University.

## Raul Duarte (PhD, Political Economy & Government)

Raul will join Florida International University as an Assistant Professor of Economics in 2027, after a postdoctoral fellowship with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics at Yale University with their Political Economy program.

## Andrew O'Donohue (PhD, Government)

Andrew will join Princeton University as a postdoctoral fellow and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a fellow. His book project, Law versus Democracy, will examine why courts defend—or instead undermine—democracy.

## David Beavers (PhD, SSSS)

David is graduating with his PhD from the Department of Government and will be joining the Wake Forest University Department of Politics & International Affairs as an assistant professor.

## Ruofan Ma (PhD, Government; AM, Statistics)

Ruofan will be a postdoc at MIT Center of International Studies during the AY26-27, and will join the Department of Political Science at MIT in Fall 2027.

## Kiara Hernandez (PhD, Government)

Kiara will be joining the Center for Political Economy (Work and Labor Idea Lab) at Columbia University as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar, where she will continue her research on labor politics, inequality, and political behavior.

## Daniel Lowery (PhD, Government)

Next year, Dan will be joining Yale's Program of Ethics, Politics, and Economics as a Postdoctoral Associate.
