#  RCE Cloud Team: Progress Report March/April 2013

- FY 12/13 Goals:

- - Batch - Deploy Prototype RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extension for batch jobs in the AWS(Amazon) Environment
    - Non-Batch - Deploy Prototype RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extension for non-batch jobs in the AWS(Amazon) Environment
    - Test Period – Exercise RCE Virtual Public Cloud Extensions with typical users/jobs
    - Ongoing – System Evaluation, Bug Fixes, Adjustments, Performance Monitoring

- Reporting Period Updates: 
    - Configured and Tested Mock Condor Master/Worker instances in public EC2
    - Tested Condor Worker AMI – reported bugs/requirements for next version
    - Identified requirements for Condor Worker node bootstrap
    - Executed trivial Condor jobs on local Master and AWS VPC based Worker nodes
    - Execution of common Condor jobs requires VPC instances to automatically mount to local NFS disk
    - Condor Worker node bootstrap needs to be dynamically loaded so we can utilize the existing AMI
    - Learning about how the existing architecture might adapt to supporting a local Open Stack implementation
 
- Open issues, questions, or needs 
    - Acquiring an AWS Support Contract will be required soon
