 Anthony Salvanto is CBS News' executive director of elections and surveys, where he oversees all polling across the nation and states, heads the CBS News Decision Desk that estimates outcomes on election nights, and appears across CBS News broadcasts and platforms. He is the author of *Where Did You Get This Number: A Pollster's Guide to Making Sense of the World* (Simon and Schuster). Anthony’s PhD in political science is from the University of California, Irvine, and his BA from Tufts. His areas of expertise and interest include American politics and elections, public opinion, and survey research methods, and his scholarly writing has appeared in research journals, edited volumes and conference papers covering topics including voting behavior and sampling techniques.
