Elisa Xi Chen is a PhD student in Education Policy at Harvard. She evaluates and identifies policy interventions in educational settings that collectively enhance economic development and social cohesion. Methodologically, Elisa develops computational methods, including techniques in natural language processing and computer vision, to construct large-scale datasets from historical and contemporary archives. She also employs causal inference techniques, conducts field experiments, and draws insights from behavioral sciences and the humanities.
