Jason Towne is a visiting scholar, author, speaker, and researcher, in the areas of innovation, motivation, and crowd psychology. Working alongside HBS Professor Karim Lakhani, Towne and his team at Harvard’s Crowd Innovation Lab (CIL) are exploring innovative ways that organizations can better reach and engage crowds, ultimately motivating them to take various forms of action through incentive alignment.
Prior to joining CIL, Towne authored the critically-acclaimed book Conversations with America’s Best Teachers, published several professional articles, and spoke on the national speaking circuit. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 2008, and a Master’s degree from Harvard University in 2015. While at Harvard, he helped lead the university-wide student group, Harvard Innovative Ventures in Education (HIVE).
