José-Manuel has a background in mathematics and is an Associate Professor at the Departent of Economic Analysis at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a visiting scholar in Dan Gilbert's Lab at the Psychology Department. His recent interests have been concerned with the quantitative analysis of some social issues: sentimental dynamics (how is it that my romantic relationship planned to last forever will probably break down?), or choice overload (how can it be that increasing the number of options may decrease my satisfaction with a rational choice?) He is also interested in the popularization of mathematics. He received the Plus New Writers Award sponsored by Cambridge University in two occasions.
