Qiong Dang is a Visiting Scholar with the China Biographical Database (CBDB) project at Harvard University. Her research focuses on social mobility, cultural capital, and official careers in late imperial China. She is currently studying Qing Dynasty Guangxi, examining how the imperial examination system, family background, and social networks shaped officials’ career trajectories. Using local gazetteers and CBDB data, she explores patterns of elite formation and official mobility in regional historical contexts.
