Student Work Opportunity: CGIS Computer Lab Assistant

Project lead: IQSS Computer Lab

Note: Not part of the URS program; this position will be directly hired by IQSS.
We are looking for motivated, friendly people to help staff the IQSS Computer Lab Help Desk at the Center for Government and International Studies (CGIS). Help Desk Lab assistants will assist users in 4 lab locations, all in the same building, as well as assisting over the phone.

We are looking for candidates who can work several shifts during the Fall 2021 semester and preferably in Spring and Summer 2022. For the Fall 2021 Semester, we are looking for candidates who can work shifts anytime Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM.

Qualifications

Candidates must be able to commit to a weekly schedule for the remainder of Fall 2021. Candidate start date is mid to late August. Candidates must be current Harvard students with at least half-time status. We welcome Harvard Extension School students, but please note you must be formally enrolled in a degree program and have “student status” in Harvard’s PeopleSoft system in order to be considered for this position. If you are unsure of your status, we can check this for you prior to scheduling an interview. Candidates should be proficient in Windows and/or macOS operating systems. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and web browsers is required. Statistical and/or multimedia application skills are desired. Candidates will need strong, dynamic interpersonal skills as well.
