IQSS Celebrates 20 years

2025 marks the the 20th anniversary of the Institute for Quantitative Social 

Science at Harvard University, which we were excited to celebrate this month at the Center for Geographic and International Studies (CGIS) with many of the faculty, staff, and students of our community working to advance research all across Harvard and at other institutions.  

Over the past 20 years, IQSS has grown into a dynamic hub for the greatest minds in data and social science to collaborate on new and better solutions for some of the most pressing issues faced by our society. As we celebrate a milestone year and the many accomplishments, projects, and innovations to emerge from our institute in those two decades, we now look forward to the course we are charting for the years to come—including new programs and partnerships that will see their start right here at IQSS.

Thank you to all of the great minds who have worked across disciplinary and institutional lines to contribute to IQSS’s journey and truly made it a center of intellectual curiosity, scholarly cooperation, and groundbreaking impact.
