This webinar will include guidance on selecting a generalist repository, using generalist repositories jointly with discipline-specific repositories, describing plans to use a generalist repository in a Data Management and Sharing Plan, and preparing for data sharing and reporting.

Coordinated by the Office of Data Science Strategy at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the goal of the Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative (GREI) is to expand its data ecosystem into additional repositories so that researchers can more easily and effectively find and share data from studies funded by the NIH. The Harvard Dataverse is one of six data repositories collaborating with the NIH on this initiative.

The Dataverse Project at IQSS was founded by IQSS Director Gary King in 2006. Its software platform provides a preservation and archival infrastructure, and allows researchers to share, keep control of, and get recognition for their data through an easy to access web browser interface.
