What's Next for This Year's Graduating IQSS Affiliates

The IQSS community includes affiliated graduate students in programs all across Harvard University and active in a wide range of social science research. The end of the academic year always brings with it the departure of some of those graduate students as they finish their Harvard programs, and while it is a bittersweet time for us, we are excited to see what our graduating affiliates have waiting for them on the next steps of their respective journeys. Below is a collection of updates from some of those affiliates going on to continue their work beyond Harvard.

 

 

 

 

 

Stephanie Kestelman

Stephanie Kestelman (PhD, Economics)

Stephanie is staying at Harvard for a postdoctoral fellowship, where she will be working with Professor Rebecca Diamond to evaluate potential impacts of Cambridge's new zoning ordinance.

Raphael Raux

Raphaël Raux (PhD, Economics)

Raphaël will be joining MIT Sloan for 3-year postdoctoral work on experiments studying human-AI interaction, and understand how the rapid adoption of GenAI disrupts behavior in online spaces and our relationship to technology.

Anthony Bald

Anthony Bald (PhD, Public Policy)

This fall, Anthony will join the faculty at California State University, Fullerton as an assistant professor of economics.

Juan Dodyk

Juan Dodyk (PhD, Government)

Juan will join Washington University in St Louis as an assistant professor in political science and environmental studies.

Lily An

Lily An (PhD, Education Policy & Program Evaluation)

In August, Lily will be starting as an assistant professor of quantitative methodology, in the Educational Policy Studies department at Georgia State University.

Dorit Stein

Dorit Talia Stein (PhD, Population Health Sciences & Health Systems)

Over the summer, Dorit will visit family in San Diego, surf and present her research in Indonesia, and collaborate with colleagues to disseminate research findings in Uganda. In the fall, she will begin a position as a research fellow in the Health Systems Innovation Lab in the Department of Global Health and Population, at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Shelby Carvalho

Shelby Carvalho (PhD, Government)

Shelby will be starting as a postdoctoral fellow at the King Center on Global Development at Stanford University.

Roman Klimke

Roman Klimke (PhD, Public Policy)

After graduation, Roman will join the ifo Center in Fürth, Germany, as a postdoctoral fellow, continuing his research on social policy and labor economics.

serhat yildirim

Serhat Yildirim (MMSc, Global Health Delivery)

Serhat will join the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University as a Research Associate, focusing on health and social justice, health disparities, and the intersection of healthcare and human rights.

Emma Ebowe

Emma Ebowe (PhD, Government, African & African American Studies)

Next year, Emma will be joining the College of William and Mary as an assistant professor in the Government and Africana Studies departments.

Christopher Kenny

Christopher Kenny (PhD, Government)

Next year, Chris will join Princeton's Data-Driven Social Sciences as a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
