Amelia Malpas is a PhD student in Government studying American and comparative politics, with a broad interest in the relationship between politics and the distribution of material resources in society. Her primary research agenda to address how this topic concerns political parties’ and intraparty factions’ policy programs exacerbate, maintain, or ameliorate socioeconomic inequalities. Put most directly, she studies the political economy of parties with special attention to factional conflict within party coalitions over distributional issues.
