Brian Schaffner is a Professor in the political science department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research focuses on public opinion, campaigns and elections, political parties, and legislative politics. His work in these areas has appeared in over 30 referred journal articles, including the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the British Journal of Political Science, Public Opinion Quarterly, Political Communication, and Legislative Studies Quarterly. He is co-PI for the Cooperative Congressional Election Study and co-author of Campaign Finance and Political Polarization: When Purists Prevail (University of Michigan Press, 2015).
