I am interested in the political ecoNomy of sustainable development, both in advance western democracies and the developing world. On the former, I am studying how inequality and the welfare state shape preferences for environmental regulations that are perceived as costly in terms of ecoNomic growth. On the later, I am interested in the environmental and ecoNomic impacts associated with different types of property rights held by indigeNous communities around the world, and how these impacts depend on communities' cultural and historical background.
