Hongsu Wang

Hongsu Wang is the senior project manager of the China Biographical Database project (CBDB), which is jointly owned by Harvard University, Academia Sinica, and Peking University. He is currently based in Beijing as a visiting researcher at Center for Research on Ancient Chinese History Peking University, and Center for Statistical Science, Tsinghua University. He is also a research fellow in Harvard's Institute for Quantitative Social Science. As CBDB's project manager, he developed the database's OCR proofreading platform, a cross-catalogue query system for digital sources, and a KML path generator tool. His publications include "A Cyberinfrastructure for Historical China Studies" (DADH2016), "Color Aesthetics and Social Networks in Complete Tang Poems: Explorations and Discoveries" (Proceedings of the Twenty-Ninth Pacific Asia Conference on Language, 2015), and "Mining Local Gazetteers of Literary Chinese with CRF and Pattern Based Methods for Biographical Information in Chinese History (IEEE International Conference on Big Data, 2015).
