Hope Harvey is a graduate student in the Joint Doctoral Program in Social Policy and Sociology. Her research interests revolve around family structure, housing, and household composition. She has also co-authored work on administrative burden in Medicaid. Hope graduated from Carleton College in 2009 with a sociology and anthropology major. Her undergraduate thesis, which won the American Sociological Society's annual undergraduate paper award in the sociology of law, explored perceptions of racial integration policy in the Jefferson County, Kentucky public school system. Hope received her Masters of Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. in 2012. She also served in AmeriCorps, where she worked as a homeless services case manager at an Austin, Texas non-profit.
