Jean Vilbert

Jean Vilbert is a PhD student in the Government Department at Harvard University, focusing on the socioeconomic effects of institutions, constitutional-legal design, and judicial politics. His research leverages a mix of causal inference and machine learning (natural language models) to explore the behavior of formal and informal institutions and how they affect people’s wellbeing. Jean is originally of Brazil, where he served as a Judge and Law Professor. Before joining Harvard, he completed a dual degree M.A. in International Public Affairs and Latin American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
