Jen-Chen Chao is a PhD student in Sociology. He studies how social inequality persists within and across generations, with a particular interest in the roles of educational institutions and family structure. He is also interested in developing and applying causal inference techniques to uncover potential policies that equalize opportunities. Before coming to Harvard, Jen-Chen received both his BA and MA in sociology from National Taiwan University.
