I'm a PhD candidate and Instructor in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, with PhD minor in Data Science at IU School of Informatics and Computing. I mainly use data science methodologies in my studies which include: the impact of social relation on social, political, and economic behavior; education and knowledge production in nonprofit and philanthropic studies; open data in policy studies; computational social science research methods. In 2018 spring and summer, because of my focuses on China and data science, I am at IQSS and working on the China Biographical Database (CBDB) project, which is a "freely accessible relational database with biographical information about approximately 370,000 individuals as of April 2017, primarily from the 7th through 19th centuries." Starting from 2018 August, I’ll join UT Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs as Assistant Professor.
