PhD Candidate in Government, GSAS
Julie Anne Weaver

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University. I research local-level political accountability in developing countries, particularly in Latin America.  My dissertation and book project study what happens when voters try to hold their elected officials accountable in contexts where institutions and political parties are weak.  I use surveys, text analysis, and experimental, qualitative and quantitative data.  I hold a B.A. in Sociology from Barnard College and an M.A. in International Development from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
