Katalina Toth
Katalina is a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at IQSS, working with Gary King on misinformation and survey instability projects. She is a recent graduate of Harvard College, where she wrote her senior thesis on the development and evolution of Indigenous health policy and its effect on health outcomes in Canada. During her time at the College, she also worked at IQSS, studying communication norms in scientific communities and their impact on the spread of information and disinformation, and the origins of empiricism. Her research experience outside IQSS includes projects quantifying the effects of state-level legal protections for stigmatized youth on health outcomes, assessing an intervention to improve mental health in Head Start teachers and staff, and developing new methods to respond to mental health related 911 calls with behavioral teams, among others. Her hobbies beyond research include pottery, boxing, and cooking.
