Koichiro is a PhD student in Population Health Sciences in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research interests center around statistically and theoretically rigorous causal inference in social epidemiology to explore the underlying mechanisms for social inequality in health. His dissertation project focuses on assessing the long-term effect of natural disaster exposure on physical health of survivors and mediating roles of post-disaster changes in neighborhood environment. He holds a BS and a Master of Public Health from the University of Tokyo.
