Maria Ballesteros is a PhD Student in Government at Harvard University using quantitative methods to study the role of gender in political violence. Originally from Mexico City, María graduated with honors from ITAM with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to coming to Harvard, María worked as a research assistant at the Harris School of Public Policy, at The University of Chicago, researching the political economy of conflicts in Colombia, Chile and Afghanistan.
