Rafael Albuquerque
Rafael Albuquerque is a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA) at Harvard University and a PhD Candidate in Marketing at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). His research explores the intersection of consumer mobility behavior and economic growth in urban environments, leveraging geospatial data science, machine learning, and social media analytics.
Prior to joining Harvard, Rafael worked extensively in marketing analytics and strategic consumer insights. His work at CGA focuses on analyzing large-scale geolocated Twitter data to measure e-WOM and examine how this variable moderates consumer mobility and economic growth. His expertise spans geospatial analysis, digital marketing, and computational social science.
Rafael holds a Master's degree (MSc) in Business Administration from the University of Beira Interior (Portugal), an MBA in Marketing from UniRitter Laureate International Universities, and a Bachelor's degree (B.B.A.) in Business Administration from Faculdade Porto-Alegrense. He has collaborated with academic and industry partners to bridge the gap between data-driven decision-making and real-world consumer behavior.
He is excited to contribute to the IQSS community by advancing research that connects geospatial intelligence with social science methodologies.
