IQSS faculty affiliate and Data Privacy Lab director Latanya Sweeney is among more than 20 women profiled in a recent Forbes list of "Incredible Women Advancing A.I. Research."
"As a Professor of Government and Technology at Harvard and Director of Harvard’s Data Privacy Lab," Mariya Yao writesin the Forbes piece, "Latanya Sweeney tackles challenges of security, privacy, and bias in personal data and machine learning algorithms." Sweeney has also served in the position of Chief Technologist at the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), as well as editor-in-chief of Technology Science. As director of the Data Privacy Lab at IQSS, she leads the program in its mission to provide intellectual leadership to society in shaping the evolving relationship between technology and the legal right to or public expectation of privacy in the collection and sharing of data.
