We are thrilled to announce the launch of TurboCurator by ICPSR, an interactive tool designed to streamline and enhance the deposit of your research data at Dataverse. Turbocurator was developed for Dataverse through intensive collaboration between our two organizations with support from the National Science Foundation Midscale Infrastructure program that funds the Research Data Ecosystem project.

TurboCurator by ICPSR utilizes the latest AI technology to generate recommendations for data elements such as research titles and keywords, enabling data depositors to attach relevant metadata to their deposits. This process uses the ICPSR metadata thesaurus and draws upon worldwide metadata standards,  which ensure your data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). With TurboCurator, ICPSR and Dataverse are helping to ease the burden of data documentation while improving the overall quality and discoverability of your research.

TurboCurator by ICPSR will be available on all Dataverse v6.1 instances where permission is granted by the instance’s administrator.

We would like to celebrate the collaborative spirit embraced by the work done by Dataverse and ICPSR to bring this tool to the research data community. With TurboCurator, we are equipping researchers with the tools they need as we work collectively toward a future where every study and data are accessible, well-documented, and valuable to all.

Please join us in celebrating the launch of TurboCurator and the potential it holds for broadening our understanding of the world around us. Let's embrace this new era of research where data curation and sharing become easier, faster, and more accurate.

The Dataverse Project at IQSS was founded by IQSS Director Gary King in 2006. Its software platform provides a preservation and archival infrastructure, and allows researchers to share, keep control of, and get recognition for their data through an easy to access web browser interface.
