OpenScholar Team Progress Report: June 2013

New release of OpenScholar on 06/20/2013. New feature include 

  • Any event post can be configured (http://goo.gl/r1eJM) to allow users to signup (http://goo.gl/eF6lI)
  • Expose events as ICal feed that end users can subscribe to (http://goo.gl/iYhAr)
  • Custom themes: Allow site owners to upload OS themes as zip files or a reference to a git repository
  • Web sites visibility options (see http://goo.gl/QKcnq )
  • Introduce infinite scrolling. Links, News, People, Publications, and Taxonomy pages have gained infinite scrolling.  
  • This means that when you reach the bottom of the page, the next page will load automatically.
  • (Harvard) PIN protected files improvements
  • Search - Add facets for taxonomy terms
  • Wrap up commenting system improvements. New private comment type only allows site members to add and view comments. Easier to change comment types
  • Add a new user role (see also #2674)
  • Mailchimp users now have the option of displaying Mailchimp’s custom forms.
