New release of OpenScholar on 06/20/2013. New feature include
- Any event post can be configured (http://goo.gl/r1eJM) to allow users to signup (http://goo.gl/eF6lI)
- Expose events as ICal feed that end users can subscribe to (http://goo.gl/iYhAr)
- Custom themes: Allow site owners to upload OS themes as zip files or a reference to a git repository
- Web sites visibility options (see http://goo.gl/QKcnq )
- Introduce infinite scrolling. Links, News, People, Publications, and Taxonomy pages have gained infinite scrolling.
- This means that when you reach the bottom of the page, the next page will load automatically.
- (Harvard) PIN protected files improvements
- Search - Add facets for taxonomy terms
- Wrap up commenting system improvements. New private comment type only allows site members to add and view comments. Easier to change comment types
- Add a new user role (see also #2674)
- Mailchimp users now have the option of displaying Mailchimp’s custom forms.
Next release is scheduled for 08/28/2013. New features planed for this release include:
- List of Posts Widget should be able to filter by two vocabularies
- Harvard PIN authentication
- Implement HWP presets
- Add ICal export for single events
- Import News Items from an RSS feed
