Annie Haakenstad is a doctoral student in the department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Annie works to apply cutting-edge statistical methods to health systems research, including resource allocation, health financing and health-driven impoverishment, in low- and middle-income countries. Before beginning her doctorate at Harvard, Annie worked at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), where she managed research on health financing and impact evaluations. Prior to IHME, Annie worked in a number of different roles at the United Nations in Geneva. Annie received her Bachelors in International Affairs from the George Washington University and her Masters in Development Studies from the Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales et du Developpement (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland.
