Martin Koenen is a PhD candidate in Political Economy and Government. His research interests are in political economy, labor economics and public finance. Within these fields, he is primarily interested in the causes and consequences of economic inequality as well as questions of political polarization.

Before beginning his PhD, Martin was a pre-doctoral fellow at Opportunity Insights working on research related to economic opportunity and social mobility. Martin holds a M.Sc. and a B.Sc. In Economics from the University of Mannheim and Humboldt-University, Berlin.
