Matine Khalighi
Graduate Student in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, Faculty of Arts and Sciences
Matine Khalighi is currently a graduate student in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC) at Harvard University. His research focuses on political trust and public opinion in authoritarian regimes, with a particular emphasis on Iran. He recently completed a senior thesis analyzing public attitudes toward government institutions in Iran, drawing on nationally representative polling data to examine how economic perceptions, media consumption, and institutional design influence trust. He hopes to build on this work by continuing to study the intersection of political behavior and authoritarian governance in the Middle East, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods.
