When I met Sid for the first time I found him in the kitchen cooking dinner for his wife. As soon as I entered the kitchen to introduce myself he welcomed me with his wonderful smile. Since that day I vowed that I would help him with respect and dignity. When I was helping him I would think of who he was before he needed help; I didn't see a man with a weakness, I saw a man who was very happy and thankful every day.

Having worked with Sid for 1½ years I have so many memories. All of the time, no matter what I did, big or small, he always thanked me with a big bright smile on his face. There is one memory that I will never forget. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining in his room, and he was about to take a nap. His bedroom was filled with sunlight and it was reflecting on the Charles River. I said to him, "Sid look at your room, it's so beautiful." And he said, "Yes, just like you inside and outside." Another day we were out on a walk and when we came back he started up the stairs. I told him that he was too tired from the walk and that it was better if we took the elevator, but he pretended he didn't hear me. I said to Sid, "Why are you pretending to not hear me?" He replied: "How am I gonna be able to hear you with your foreign language?" with a big smile. We both laughed and we went up the stairs.

Sid taught me how to cook everything that he liked. Before I met him the main thing I cooked was Ethiopian food, but now because of Sid when any client asks me if I know how to cook I say yes. Sid left me behind memories and gifts that will be forever.
